Park’s extended stay at the Heartbreak Hotel got extended for another night Saturday.
Leading 2-0 early in the game and then 2-1 at the half, Park suffered another second-half collapse and dropped a 4-3 decision to visiting Hastings at Cottage Grove. Hastings (7-6-1) scored four consecutive goals to knock out the Wolfpack.
The Wolfpack fell to 5-9 on the season in dropping their sixth game in their last seven contests. Four of those losses were by a single goal.
“That was a good Hastings team, they fight to the end,” said Park head coach Andrew Bourgoine. “We had them, 2-0 up. Hastings just came here today – even though we looked the better team the first half, actually the first 30 minutes we looked like the better team by a lot. Like not even close. The Wolfpack dropped a tough 1-0 decision at Stillwater Thursday night.
Pak is now 3-4 in the Suburban East Conference, tied for fifth place. Stillwater improved to 3-2-1 in the conference.
Park 3, Forest Lake 2
Devin Igl powered in all three goals as the Park boys snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over visiting Forest Lake Tuesday.
Tristan Lee had a pair of assists for the Wolfpack and Logan Zumbado one.
Park led 2-1 at the break. Both teams scored once in the second half.
