For over 40 years the South Washington County Telecommunications Commission (SWCTC) has been producing video content for the communities of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, Woodbury and Grey Cloud Island Township and operates the community media channels (Xfinity 18/859, 16/799, 14/798).
SWCTC is excited to announce Ann Schweisguth as its new Executive Director. With nearly 25 years of experience at SWCTC, Ann began her career as a cablecaster televising city meetings in St. Paul Park before transitioning to a full-time role as a government producer.
A Cottage Grove native and Woodbury High School graduate, Ann has dedicated her professional life to serving her local community. For years, she was a familiar face on local TV access channels, hosting shows and anchoring the news. As a national award-winning producer, her passion for local programming and storytelling has been a hallmark of her work.
"Ann has demonstrated time and time again her commitment to our community and to local media," said Brian Bluhm, Chair of the SWCTC Board. "Her dedication and vision, along with the commitment of the entire SWCTC team, will ensure that we continue to deliver top-quality programming and services to our member cities."
Since January 2024, Schweisguth has been serving as Interim Executive Director and is now officially stepping into the role permanently.
"It's an exciting time for SWCTC and community media in general. Our entire staff is very talented and share a passion for creating compelling video productions and providing excellent service. We have some exciting new initiatives on the horizon that we're eager to share with the community." said Schweisguth.
