Volleyball camp gets underway

Volleyball season was served up at Park High School Monday with more than 70 young athletes out for the first day of camp. Grades 6 through 8 will attend camp in the morning, with grades 9 to 12 practicing in the afternoon.

The three-week volleyball camp will focus on both individual skills and team concepts. There will be skill development in setting, passing, hitting and blocking, as well as development in team defense, offense and serve receive. Week one is focused on individual skill development. Week two will work on putting the skills together with team concepts. Week three will focus on 6 on 6 team skills and play.

Park’s varsity volleyball team also got in some hits Monday, practicing in the main gym.

The Wolfpack went 18-10 last season and returns everyone off a team which advanced to the section semifinals last season.
