Mixing fun with environmental stewardship Tuesday May 14, the Cottage Grove Random Runners cleaned up the stretch of Jamaica Avenue from 70th street to Military Road in Cottage Grove. Facing knee high grass and weeds they divided and conquered, retrieving several bags of assorted detritus. Spelling became important as a stake was also picked up and laughingly referred to as a steak! Among the items picked up was “regular junk” like beer cans and Fire Ball “samples” as well as some broken glass and discarded food wrappers.
